My Sunday Lunch at Corner Bakery Amsterdam
So this easter weekend I went out for lunch at this cute little place called Corner Bakery in Amsterdam. I've been craving their beautiful looking milkshakes for a while now so I decided that this weekend was the time to go and see what this place is all about..
The Corner Bakery is situated in a pretty area in the south part of Amsterdam and it's super close to the well known Musuem Square. This place looks very small but they also have a downstairs area with seats.
I arrived at 3, so it was a late lunch but it was still very busy. The service was great, they were quick and very helpfull. Even when I asked about if a paticular sandwich was good, they gave me an honest answer and told me that other sandwiches were tastier AND THEY WERE RIGHT. The Tunna Roll was recommended by one of the staff members there and it was SUPER delicious!!
Unfortunately I didn't ask about the pancakes, I wish I had because they weren't good. The pancakes weren't fluffy at all, more hard and chewy plus they weren't warm anymore. I also felt like the fruit that was served with the pankcakes were a little old and could be better chosen. I had hoped for prettier fruit like a mix of berries. Like who eats tangerines with their pancakes? I felt like this dish was overpriced. I know a couple of other places where they serve way better and more fluffy pancakes with the better fruits for the same price...
But when I tasted that banana milkshake all my complaints about the pancakes had left my mind. This milkshake was SO GOOD!! I'm not a big milkshake fan because in my opnion the texture is usually so heavy and thick, but this one was simply amazing. The taste of banana was on point, the texture was really milky and those fruitloops on top gave it the cutest look. I'm giving this a 10!
Overall this is a great place for lunch and eventhough I didn't like the pancakes, I Loved their milkshake and that Tunna roll. I also saw very good looking sandwiches on the tables next to me that I can't wait to try.
Have any of you guys been to this place?
